SCHAN TAX SERVICE is a division of Schan Business Enterprises Inc., formed by Paul E. Schmidt and Patrick M. Handlos. Initially established for the preparation of income tax returns the company has grown to include small business accounting, payroll processing, insurance, and retirement and estate planning.

Paul E. Schmidt, president, has been professionally preparing tax returns since 1974, has more than 23 years of banking experience, and is a licensed life insurance agent.
Patrick M. Handlos, vice-president, is an Enrolled Agent, an Accredited Business Accountant, a UW-Madison graduate, and has prepared tax returns since 1976. He is also past vice–president of the Wisconsin Society of Enrolled Agents and a licensed life insurance agent.
Frank and Joanne Wanner have been in the tax preparation, accounting, and bookkeeping field since 1963. Joanne received her accreditation in business accounting in 1972. Frank served as the Executive Director of the Wisconsin Association of Accountants for 14 years.
