Tax guide

How can I check to see if my income tax return is in process?

We will contact you by email when the IRS has either accepted your tax return or rejected it:

  • If your return is accepted, you can track its progress using the "Where's My Refund?" tool.
  • If your return is rejected, log back in and we will help you make corrections and refile at no extra charge.

After your return has been accepted, you can log into the “Where’s My Refund?” tool on the IRS.gov website to see whether it's being processed or if it has been approved.

States with an income tax usually have a similar tool, which can be found on your state’s official government website for revenue or taxation.
