If the card is tied to an active bank account, you may receive your stimulus payment on your card.

If the IRS attempts a direct deposit and it doesn’t go through for some reason – maybe the account is closed or no longer active – the IRS will attempt to re-issue the payment via check or prepaid debit card from MetaBank.

If you’re missing payments or portions of your payments, check to see if the IRS has sent your payment by using the Get My Payment tool (EIP3), requesting an account transcript (EIP1 and EIP2), or looking back through their mail for Notices 1444, 1444-B, or 1444-C, which are payment confirmations mailed by the IRS roughly 15 days after issuing an economic impact payment.
